Service Technician

DBC Remodeling & Construction is looking for a highly qualified, highly motivated individual to serve on our team of Service Technicians. Service Technicians meet with our existing customers on pre-scheduled appointments to perform annual maintenance or follow up on warranty issues for customers' waterproofing, crawlspace and foundation repair systems. Service Techs inspect, diagnose and recommend additional products or services to address customer needs. Both construction and sales experience are preferred. Excellent customer service skills and integrity are crucial. Individual must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Serve as a representative of DBC through in-person interactions with customers at pre-scheduled appointments.
  • Build rapport with customers and demonstrate expertise in all serviceable products offered by DBC.
  • Examine waterproofing repair systems and determine if there is a potential problem(s) and if customer’s needs and/or desired outcome(s) have changed.
  • Examine warranty concerns across all DBC divisions and provide solutions for the customer.
  • Recommend additional products and services to enhance and improve original installation.
  • Recommend additional products and services outside of the original installation, to highlight DBC’s other divisions.
  • Create and present job proposals for work including product photos, inventory needed, and pricing of the total job. 
  • Collect payment(s) at the time of service.
  • Keep accurate records of communication, services provided and sales in Salesforce i360. 
  • Follow up with the customer until all issues are resolved.
  • Work with production managers to find solutions to customer issues ST may assistance with.
  • Attend weekly training meetings.
  • Regular and punctual attendance, with the ability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with transportation to get oneself to and from work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Essential Skills:  

  • 2+ years of sales experience (preferably as a sales representative in the home or at a showroom/store with home products)
  • 1-2+ years of handyman experience (can include: Interior: drywall repair, painting, repairing doors, installing shelves, fixing cabinets, Minor plumbing and electrical, Exterior: gutter cleaning, power washing, deck repairs, landscaping, carpentry)
  • Skilled in operating equipment and/or power tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for thoroughly explaining features and benefits of solutions and closing the sale
  • Ability to lift 75lbs unassisted, work outside for extended periods of time, and work on high surfaces, as needed

Education: 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.  

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Seeing – Must see well enough to read reports, data, statistics & information on a computer screen.
  • Hearing – Must be able to hear well enough to communicate via telephone and in person.
  • Standing/Walking
  • Grasping/Feeling – Must be able to operate a computer and telephone efficiently.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling 

This role is primarily sedentary, with occasional requirements for walking, standing, kneeling, and lifting objects weighing up to 75 pounds. 

Compensation, Hours & Benefits –  

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays – Prescheduled appointments
  • Pay is bi-weekly on Fridays
  • Hourly rate range $20-23 plus commission
  • Introductory training pay 
  • Following a 60-day probationary period:
    • Paid Time Off and holiday pay are available

  • Following six months of employment, 401(k) eligible, with an up to 4% employer match
