Job Summary:
The Laborer must represent the company in a friendly and professional manner to its customers, subcontractors, and fellow co-workers, upholding DBC’s Core Values of treating everyone well, keeping everything clean, and excelling every time, in all interactions.
The Laborer is an entry-level carpenter with one year or less of field-related experience. The Laborer is responsible for assisting the Foreman and other carpenters on the day-to-day tasks assigned for kitchens, baths, decks, sunrooms, basement finishing or basement remodeling.
They will be responsible for attending weekly training meetings and other training courses required. In general, most time will be spent in the field.
Essential Job Functions:
• Support the Foreman and other team members on day-to-day tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
• Prepare job sites by clearing debris, setting up, and cleaning up regularly.
• Load and unload materials.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Assemble materials.
• Mix and pour concrete.
• Dig trenches and backfill excavations.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Other manual tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills:
• Basic knowledge of construction and equipment, or related trades preferred
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Capable of working in a team atmosphere
• Work on high surfaces, as needed
• Ability to lift 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to take instruction and follow steps of installation and communicate when uncertain

Tools Necessary to Complete Job:
• A smartphone for necessary company apps
• Basic hand tools with toolbelt, including safety glasses & ear protection
• Reliable transportation to transport oneself to and from the job site daily
Education and Experience:
• 1 year or less of construction experience, preferred
Compensation & Hours:
• Pay is bi-weekly $15-17/hour
• Hourly pay (rate is based on skills and experience and determined by the PM)
• Bonus pay available
• Production Hours (typical hours, but subject to change at any time for any reason):
o 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
o 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Wednesday)
o Overtime available on a job-by-job basis
