Service Technician

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Job Summary:

The Service Technician (ST) meets with existing customers on pre-scheduled appointments to perform annual maintenance or follow-up on warranty issues. The ST will make recommendations to customers on additional products or services and/or identify a potential problem with diagnosis and remedy. The ST will follow through with customers until all issues are resolved. This can be Full Time (FT) or Part Time (PT).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as a representative of DBC through in-person interactions with customers at pre-scheduled appointments.
  • Build rapport with customers and demonstrate expertise in all serviceable products offered by DBC.
  • Examine waterproofing repair systems and determine if there is a potential problem(s) and if customer’s needs and/or desired outcome(s) have changed.
  • Examine warranty concerns across all DBC divisions and provide solutions for the customer.
  • Recommend additional products and services to enhance and improve original installation.
  • Recommend additional products and services outside of the original installation, to highlight DBC’s other divisions.
  • Create and present job proposals for work including product photos, inventory needed, and pricing of the total job.
  • Collect payment(s) at the time of service.
  • Keep accurate records of communication, services provided and sales in CRM.
  • Follow up with the customer until all issues are resolved.
  • Work with production managers to find solutions to customer issues ST may assistance with.
  • Attend weekly training meetings.
  • Regular and punctual attendance, with the ability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with transportation to get oneself to and from work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction with a strong understanding of industry-specific practices
  • Experience in sales and customer satisfaction practices
  • Skilled in operating equipment and/or power tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for thoroughly explaining features and benefits of solutions and closing the sale
  • Ability to lift 75lbs unassisted, work outside for extended periods of time, and work on high surfaces, as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Seeing – Must see well enough to read reports, data, statistics & information on a computer screen.
  • Hearing – Must be able to hear well enough to communicate via telephone and in person.
  • Standing/Walking
  • Grasping/Feeling – Must be able to operate a computer and telephone efficiently.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of sales experience required.
  • Five years’ experience in construction required, customer service, or related fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.

Pay:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday’s – Prescheduled appointments
  • Pay is bi-weekly on Friday’s
  • Hourly rate with commission
  • Introductory training pay
  • Following a 60-day probationary period:
