9 Steps of Working with DBC: From First Call to Project Completion

We're not your typical contractor! Here's what to expect when you choose to work with DBC from first call to project completion:

Step 1 – Call DBC

Give us a call (or fill out this online form) and tell us a bit about your project! If we can help, we’ll schedule a time for our estimator to meet with you.

Step 2 – Meet with DBC

Your estimator will arrive at the scheduled time and ask you all about your project. They'll clarify details, share ideas, take measurements, introduce you to a few solutions, and maybe even snap some "before" photos for reference.

Step 3 – Your Free Estimate

Depending on the project, sometimes they can provide you with a free estimate on the spot! If your project is big or has lots of intricate details, it might take a week or so. We appreciate your patience - we want to be as accurate as possible.

Step 4 – Go Time!

Once you say “Yes”, you pay a deposit and we get you on the schedule!

Step 5 - Measure Twice

Your estimator and project manager will make an appointment to stop by your house to double check all measurements. This is important because everything hinges on those details. Imagine not ordering enough cabinets or deck boards! Not fun.

Step 6 - Happy Mess

Now is when the magic begins! We do demo differently than the other guys. Your foreman and his team will do a lot of prep work to ensure the mess is contained and managed well. We pride ourselves on keeping everything clean. Home renovations are disruptive by nature - we do all we can to be as courteous and clean throughout the entire project.

Step 7 - Let's Build!

With demo in the rearview mirror, the foreman and his team can now bring your project to life. Waterproofing, kitchens, sunrooms, decks, bathrooms, basement renovations - we love 'em all - but they all have very different timelines for completion. For example, a 5x8" pressure treated deck will be finished a lot faster than a full kitchen remodel and waterproofing a crawlspace will always be done faster than a bathroom renovation. 

Step 8 - Final Touches

Hurray! Your project is 95% done and just about ready for you to enjoy. At this stage, your foreman will work with you to take care of any finishing touches and last minute to-do's. Your estimator might even stop out to check out your new space too.

Step 9 - Completion

Congrats - your new space is done and ready for you to enjoy! Thank you for inviting us into your home and trusting us with your project.
